Jett’s Design Journey

Jett Thompson’s journey in design began 35 years ago with the complete transformation of a cottage on Sea Island, Georgia. The young owners were ecstatic with the results and became lifelong friends and clients. A 6th-generation native Floridian, Jett spent 25 years in Atlanta as a representative in the home furnishing industry. The constant travel and hotel living grew tiresome and prompted her to return to her Florida roots and join forces with her mother, Nelda, the real estate “Queen of Manasota Key”. They worked together until Jett decided to open a small boutique on her own. She reminisces, “I opened the door on Christmas Eve with some antiques and some pieces I threw together from my previous business in Atlanta. One customer practically bought my entire inventory!” She opened Jett Thompson Home in 2012 and moved into her current location in 2022.

Jett is passionate about giving back to her community. Whether it’s contributing to the Naples Botanical Garden by participating in their main fundraising event “Hats in the Garden” or supporting the Naples Zoo, she is deeply committed to Naples. To her it’s not just a responsibility ingrained in her by her parents, it’s a heartfelt connection to the community she loves.

“To be successful in this business you have to be incredibly organized and flexible. My team is here to keep me organized. Plans can and do change in an instant and I am very adaptable. You also have to be completely dedicated. Every day I’m finding new and antique items, doing research and absorbing knowledge from multiple sources. I attend design seminars and travel extensively with fellow designers across the globe. In this evolving world of design there’s always something new and special to discover,” Jett says.
